Ravaras: The Quiet Veil
An Imperial crusade has arrived in the Ravaras system, comprising a company of the Lamenters and an Order of Battle Sisters, accompanied by their unusual Ynnari allies. The presence of the Ynnari has attracted particular scrutiny from the Inquisition, but there may be other reasons for the Imperium to be wary of what it finds here. Inquisitor Fenwick has been tasked with securing Skyllos Prime, purging its xenos threats, and determining what happened to those who came before. The main inhabited world of the system, Skyllos Prime, is already in the grip of an Ork Waaagh led by rival warbands. In orbit hangs Skyllos-II, a frozen moon where a Tyranid splinter tendril has lain dormant for generations. The Orks' attempts to test their strength against the Tyranids have begun to rouse the swarm once more — and the Tyranids appear to be reacting to something beneath the ice as much as they are to their Ork attackers. The conflict has also drawn the attention of three neighbouring powers. A Votann expedition, a T'au infiltration force, and a Necron dynasty have all entered the system, each pursuing its own interests in the chaos. Their involvement is not purely military: all three have reason to investigate the remains of an earlier expedition led by a renegade Rogue Trader, whose discoveries on Skyllos have attracted the attention of forces she would rather keep at arm's length. For now, the Raiders seek different forms of advantage — ancient knowledge, valuable technology, forgotten records, and opportunities for profit — while the Imperials attempt to establish control and the Orks seek to prove their strength. But Skyllos has a history that none of them fully understand. Strange ruins, impossible survivals, altered specimens and ancient records all point towards something buried beneath the frozen surface. If the rumours are true, the greatest threat on Skyllos may not be the war being fought upon its surface. And whatever lies beneath the ice may have been waiting a very long time for someone to find it.

into the veiled region
The Imperial Crusaders have arrived in the Ravaras system, comprising a company of the Lamenters and an Order of Battle Sisters, accompanied by their unusual Ynnari allies. The presence of the Ynnari appears to have attracted particular scrutiny from the Inquisition, but there may be other reasons for the Imperium to be wary of what it finds here. Inquisitor Fenwick has been tasked with securing Skyllos Prime, purging its xenos threats, and determining what happened to those who came before.
The main inhabited world of the system, Skyllos Prime, is already in the grip of the Ravaging Hordes - an Ork Waaagh! led by rival warbands. In orbit hangs Skyllos-II, a frozen moon where a Tyranid splinter tendril has lain dormant for generations. The Orks' attempts to test their strength against the Tyranids have begun to rouse the swarm once more — and the Tyranids appear to be reacting to something beneath the ice as much as they are their new prey.
The conflict has also drawn the attention of three neighbouring powers. A Votann mercenary company, a T'au force, and a Necron dynasty have all entered the system, each pursuing its own interests in the chaos. Their involvement is not purely military: all three have reason to investigate the remains of an earlier expedition led by a renegade Rogue Trader, whose discoveries on Skyllos have attracted the attention of forces she would rather keep at arm's length.
For now, these Insidious Hunters seek different forms of advantage — ancient knowledge, valuable technology, forgotten records, and opportunities for profit — while the Imperials attempt to establish control and the Orks seek to prove their strength. But Skyllos has a history that none of them fully understand. Strange ruins, impossible survivals, altered Tyranid specimens and ancient records all point towards something buried beneath the frozen surface.
If the rumours are true, the greatest threat on Skyllos may not be the war being fought upon its surface. And whatever lies beneath the ice may have been waiting a very long time for someone to find it.
