MissionEternal's Account

Riding on the breakers of a warp storm, the battle barge „Insidious Delight“ suddenly arrived deep within the system perimeter of SALIS, and spewed forth a vanguard host of Slaanesh worshiping traitor marines. Their quick raid for slaves and relics went largely unopposed. Even a quickly dispatched detachment of the Mission Eternal chapter was barely able to slow down their rampage through the planet‘s capital.

Debriefing

2k-games are still a challenge for me, for their complexity and sheer volume and the resulting time pressure. I don‘t think that I forgot an important Unit rule (although I probably made some minor mistakes), but I didn‘t always use my units right. Three instances came to mind:

- I forgot to Tank Shock with my Redemptor, and instead made an unnecessary charge into a dangerous unit with my Heavy Intercessors. This was micro-tactical on an Objective, and cost me the remainder of a unit, an Objective and a Secondary (Storm Hostile).

- I overestimated the resilience of a Demon Prince, directing a healthy amount of firepower at him, and positioning my Assault Intercessors for a charge that never happened (and would have been ridiculous overkill if it did. Instead, I should have directed my Intercessors to charge a battleline unit defending a nearby Objective - I likely would have wiped that unit out and taken the Objective.

- I teleported my Terminators into his back-field and directed them towards the center of his army, where they were quickly routed. Instead, I should have sent them towards his home objective, which I could have taken & Secured, and then harried the units he‘d have to send to re-take it.
