Pestilence and Archaeotech

A reclamation force dispatched by Techpriest Arcanologis Rho-42 and tasked with reclaiming suspected archaeotech relics in the remote greenhouse swamps of AUSTRIACUS MINOR was suddenly beset by a Plague Marine garrison which had infested the area. What started out as a covert but benign operation quickly turned into a violent brawl as the opposing forces met.

While the Skitarii initially succeeded in driving a wedge into the centre of the DeathGuard force, attrition through constant plague barrages slowly took its toll; and the aggressive push into the enemy lines left the left flank of the Skitarii cohort exposed to hammering counterattack by elite infantry. Eventually, only limited resources could be rescued from the planet surface.

And critically, as the strike force's mission was classified "Adeptus Regnum", the wider Imperium remains unaware of this disease vector in the hart of its vital harvest world...
