The Verdant Court
"An immortal court that performs the rituals of mortality to remember what it meant to live"
Backstory
The Verdant Court of Neith are Necrons who recreate the rituals of mortal life to preserve its meaning beyond death. Through artificial gardens, seasonal ceremonies, funerary rites and the Hunt, they sustain identities that flesh once defined. They understand that identity is shaped through practice and recognition, yet their rigid hierarchy exposes the contradictions of that belief: the nobility choose their roles, while the Unremembered Chorus are assigned theirs. The Court seeks to escape the limitations of the body, but has yet to escape the urge to define others. Its rituals preserve identity, even as they risk turning living subjects into symbols.
