Backstory
The Cadian 542nd Regiment is a post-Fall of Cadia formation of surviving Cadian Shock Troops, rebuilt during the escalation of the Great Rift and stationed in Segmentum Pacificus fortress world “Judicaris Virelia” as a high-priority combined-arms regiment within the Astra Militarum.
While retaining Militarum green line infantry and cavalry, the regiment operates under significant doctrinal and operational influence of the Inquisition, particularly within its armored and elite formations. Kasrkin and Tempestus Scion serve as black-armoured elite special forces, while armored companies deploy Leman Russ Battle Tank and Rogal Dorn Battle Tank in Inquisitorial-sanctioned livery.
Reinforced by elements of the Death Korps of Krieg, the regiment now functions as a tri-layer force of Cadian control elements plus iron tide, Kasrkin with Tempestus precision units, and Krieg attrition formations, operating under continuous Inquisitorial oversight.
