Warhammer 40K·Black Templars·BigMekBoss

"Marshal Eldric Grimholt has vowed to clear the Targulon System of Waaagh Deffdroppa"

Backstory

Marshal Eldric Grimholt is a newly risen Marshal of the Black Templars. He has been ordered to defend the Pilgrimage System of Targulon containing their holy shrine world Targulon Prime, home to the fortress monastery that houses countless Black Templar relics. The system is known as a prime jump location for ships traveling the warp toward the war world, Armageddon. Normally used by the Imperium to resupply and refit, the Ork Waaagh of Kommanda Grimtoof Deffdroppa's Blood Axes have stumbled upon the resource rich system. Grimtoof's Big Meks deploy their support ships to drain Targulon's worlds of sea water to cool their massive warp engines, promethium for Grimtoof's massive fleet of flying war machines, and whole populations for food, slaves, and entertainment enroute to 'Da Biggest Waaagh'. The Orks discover the importance of Targulon Prime and know how hard the Templars will fight over their shrineworlds. Grimtoof never passes up a chance for a proppa scrap and floods the planet with Blood Axes and fellow Warboss Burger's boyz and Stompas. Marshal Grimholt understands the importance of this battle to preserve the purity of the Chapter's Shrine World and defeat a force of Greenskins inevitably headed toward Armageddon. As the fleet deploys against Waaagh Deffdroppa, Sword Brother Alcander receives the holy visions from the Emperor and dons the armor and black sword as the Emperor's Champion of Crusade Targulon. Fortunately for the Crusaders, the path to Armageddon has led other Imperial forces to Targulon Prime. A regiment of Death Korp of Krieg are in system as well as a contingent of Dark Angels. Marshal Grimholt has sworn his oaths. He will cleanse the filthy xenos from Targulon Prime and protect the holy relics it contains, if he has to expend every battle brother, battle sister, and guardsman under his command to do so. Death before dishonor, purge the Xenos!

Roster — 5 units

Commander of Crusade Targulon. Wields the power sword Consecrated Woe and his relic plasma pistol. He is joined in battle by his personal guard of Sword Brethren known as the Pyre Cloaks.

Champion Alcander

Emperor's Champion

Sword Brother Alcander of the Marshal's own retinue, The Pyre Cloaks, was struck by visions from the Emperor on the eve of battle. He witnessed flashes of the battles ahead, great victories, and his own doom. Alcander, a peerless swordsman and hero of the chapter, donned the Crusade's holy armor and Black Sword and named the Emperor's Champion by Chaplain Garadorn. The elevation of the first Emperor's Champion in their newly formed crusade filled every Black Templar with holy zeal and battle lust as they boarded their drop ships to make planet fall on the various embattled worlds of the Targulon system.

High Chaplain Garadorn

Chaplain in Terminator Armor

Chaplain Garadorn has marched to war encased in his holy Terminator Armor for two centuries. His fury and dark temperament has prevented him rising in rank but his role as a proven and trusted battlefield leader is perfectly suited. His assignment to the elite Terminator Assault Squad, known as "The Judges" has been seamless. His fiery rhetoric and battle prowess only adding to the Judges battle honors. Garadorn had the further honor of elevating the new Crusade's first Emperor's Champion prior to the first engagements, raising the battle zeal and pride of every Templar battle brother. Brother Chaplain Garadorn is hard edged and sharp tongued when it comes to upholding the glory of the Emperor and the honor of the chapter. Each Neophyte is presented to the High Chaplain upon recommendation for elevation to full Initiate of the Chapter. His is brutal in his evaluation and many Neophyte's have been returned to their Crusader Squad to attempt to redeem their honor at being deemed unready. Once given the High Chaplain's approval, however, the Initiates of the Pyre Lord's Crusade are exemplary in faith and deeds.

Reinhardt's Skullbared

Assault Intercessors

Sword Brother Reinhardt leads his ten brother squad of Assault Intercessors known as the Skullbared. Reinhardt is renowned for doffing his helmet before battle and meeting his enemy face to face, such is his faith in the Emperor. When asked why he removes his helmet before battle he replies that the Emperor has chosen his time to die and a helmet won't the time or place. Reinhardt's men are fiercely loyal to him and remove their helms once he does. Wearing it only when it is needed to survive in the void or inhospitable environments. Their scarred and pitted visages are a badge of honor and they are highly respected by their brothers.

Ancient Bachorath is a force of nature. Even before his remains were interred into the Dreadnought sarcophagus, he charged headlong into the thickest fighting. His living form was huge, even for an Astartes, and his slain enemies eclipsed those of his brothers. As did the injuries he sustained. His zeal and fury were legendary and he would have been a future Marshal or even High Marshal had the cost of his bravery not brought him as close to death as possible. He was placed into a Brutalis Chassis to best allow him to continue to slay the enemies of mankind as only he can. While he hates the Witch, the Heretic, and Xenos with the black hate of the Black Templars, it is the Ork he delights in purging most. It was a Mega-Armored Warboss that critically wounded Bachorath and sealed him into his machine prison. He takes every opportunity to thank the greenskins for his fate with his Brutalis Talons and melta guns.
